Agriturismo Gli Asini Felici is a completely ecologically rebuilt farmhouse that is equipped with every modern comfort. It is surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and forests against the foothills of the Apennines at an altitude of around 440 meters. From the site you have a beautiful view over the valley of Pescia and Uzzano (province of Pistoia). You can even see Lucca and Monte Serra, behind which Pisa is located and in clear weather you can even see a glimpse of the sea.
Gli Asini Felici can be reached along a winding road. The owner is Dushka, a Dutch woman, who lives in the farm herself and who has therefore tastefully and tastefully decorated. In addition to her own home there are 2 apartments with the names Fontana (fountain) and Fornellino (oven). Furthermore, there are two fully furnished safari tents at approximately 200 meters: Timo (thyme) and Benjamino (little brave boy) and in the somewhat further away forest is the lodge Acacia (acacia tree), also fully furnished. Every accommodation has a barbeque.
Dogs, cats and two donkeys are also walking around the domain. In other words, dogs are welcome (max. Two per host family), provided they are of course social with the other animals. The tents are fenced and can be provided with a doghouse. It is, however, recommended to report this when booking.
Unfortunately, there are no facilities for the disabled yet, but that will certainly change in the near future.
The guest rooms:
Apartment Fontana: This is the largest apartment (approximately 70 m²) and consists of a large kitchen, with a fireplace, which is connected with a wide open passage to the spacious sitting room where there is also a sleeping area with a double bed and a spacious bathroom. The apartment is suitable for two adults and two children. Optionally, children's beds can be added or you can set up a tent on the site for when more children are coming.
In front of the kitchen is a pergola that allows you to eat outside and enjoy the beautiful view of the Pescia valley, the olive groves and the lower forest. On clear days you can even catch a glimpse of the Mediterranean Sea behind the distant hills.
This is a smaller apartment (approximately 23 m²) consisting of a small sitting room and spacious bathroom on the ground floor and a small bedroom with a double bed on the 1st floor. There is also an outdoor kitchen (with four-ring gas stove and fridge) and a pergola, where you can eat.
The smaller apartment is suitable for three adults or two adults and two children. Here too, an additional tent can be set up on the surrounding terrain for if there were more children.
On the terrain of more than one hectare there are also two completely furnished safari tents and an African wooden lodge, again unique and individually decorated. All suitable for two adults and two children. But here too there is the possibility to place a bed or place a tent nearby.

Children walk around the grounds in groups all day long, then here and then there again. The highlight is of course the swimming pool where they can cool off and play.
The pool and the restaurant
At the swimming pool is also the restaurant where on Saturdays all guests are offered a joint Italian meal by Doesjka (also this only in high season). This is included in the price and is always highly appreciated by all guests after a long day of traveling.
Cozy dinner together outdoors on Saturday
A common BBQ is often organized and on Sunday evenings you can come to an excellent pizzeria within walking distance. The walk back in the dark, accompanied by fireflies, is an experience especially for children!

Gli Asini Felici is located in an agricultural, wooded hilly area (precursors of the Apennines) in the north of Tuscany. It lies at an altitude of 440 meters and often a cooling breeze blows up the hill. It is therefore less hot there than in the valley. From the terrain you can drive straight into the cooler mountains, for example to picnic at a mountain stream.
The landscape of Tuscany is very suitable for beautiful walks. The towns and villages are sometimes true open-air museums. Especially outside the high season you will not encounter many tourists and it is very pleasant due to the lower temperature. It is of course wonderful to go out on your own.
If desired, you can also opt for guided walks, you can also take one of the donkeys that carry your luggage in consultation. Small children can ride on their backs after a long walk.
