Bol Island Brac

Island Brac : Enjoy our April / May Promotion in our fully equipped apartments and rooms in Bol, on the island Brac. With love, from Bol. The Zlatni rat beach spreads to the west of Bol and is one of the biggest and most beautiful natural beaches on the Adriatic. Like a tongue stretching almost half a kilometer into the sea, it grows with the drifting deposits of tiny pebbles, changing its shape depending on the wind and the direction of the waves.

Bol is a paradise for surfers because of the favourable wind, which always blows. There is an array of high-class hotel complexes and private apartments along the beach and the coastal promenade. In the vicinity of the town centre are a baroque summer house, castle, parish church and the small square “pjaceta”.

On the eastern side, a Dominican monastery, one of the most beautiful in Europe, rises on the Glavici peninsula. Only two hours walk from Bol are sites of exceptional value – the Blaca desert (church and monastery from the 16th century) and Zmajeva spilja (a cave rich in reliefs, and home to Glagolitic priests).

Island Brac

Island Brac, the largest island of the central Dalmatian group of islands, the third largest among the Adriatic islands; area 394.57 sq km; population 13,824. It is separated from the mainland by the Brac Channel, from the island of Solta by the so-called Splitska Vrata (Split Gate) and from the Island of Hvar by the Hvar Channel.

The island landscape is dominated by a karst limestone relief, with numerous gullies, crevices, cavities, round valleys and coves. Milder forms of the relief, with brown Primorje soils (the most fertile on the island), are found mostly in the interior (specially between Lozisca and Nerezisca, as well as between Selca, Novo Selo and Sumartin.

The largest places are Pucisca and Supetar. Major farming products are olive oil, wine and fruit (sour cherries and almonds); chief occupations include also livestock breeding and fishing. Fish canneries are located in Postira and Milna. Where the famous Brac building stone is excavated, are located near Pucisca, Selca, Postira, Splitska and Donji Humac (this kind of building stone was used in the construction of the White House in Washington and the Palace of Diocletian in Split).

A road network has been constructed throughout the island; ferry lines Split – Supetar, Makarska – Sumartin; ship lines with Supetar and Bol. Airport ‘Brac’ (for smaller aircraft) is located above Bol. Bol is situated on the southern part of the island Brac, and is the oldest town on the coast of Brac. This little town was founded long ago and became an extraordinary tourist oasis because of the wide gravel and sandy beaches which expands over 10 km and the sources of drinking water. It is not possible to avoid the Zlatni rat, certainly the most beautiful beach on the Adriatic sea, whose cape is turning one moment to one side and the other moment to the other side playing a strange game with the wind and the waves.

We invite you to explore this unique island that offers everything one needs for an unforgettable holiday in an unspoiled natural enviroment.

Rich cultural and historic heritage that dates back to pre-historic times, unique gastronomy, beautiful beaches and bays, crystal blue sea, high quality accommodation in private facilities and the hospitality of the local people are the guarantees of a holiday you will always remember.
